Do Not Fear
by Pat Howell
Matthew 1:18-25 “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.” v. 20
As did the angel appeared to Joseph in a dream, telling him “do not fear”, an angel spoke to me in prayers and dreams also. “Do not fear” what life holds for you.
When I had cancer early in my life, I first tried to blame anybody, mainly in speaking to the Lord. Then I believed the Lord wanted me here to see my children grow, graduate from school, marry and have children.
Both of my children serve the Lord by helping people in the church and community. I now believe they are the people they are, because of the fear of losing me and and overcoming this fear.
We all needed to have a special angel to guide us through the misery to become followers of the Lord. To not fear and open our hearts, the Lord will guide you.
- Who are the angels who have reassured you – “do not fear”?
- Who has God sent to you today to say, “do not fear”?
Prayer
God, this is the day you have made.
Come now Lord Jesus, so I may rejoice and be glad in it.
Come now Lord Jesus, so I may surrender to you my agenda and to-do list.
Come now Lord Jesus, so I may receive today your love from the ones you have blessed to give it to me.
Come now Lord Jesus, so I may share today your love with the ones you have blessed me to give it to.
Come now Lord Jesus, so I, all people, and all creation may be awake and ready for the coming of your Son, Jesus Christ, and the glorious end of days.
Amen
