All Saints’ Ministry Site Review took place on July 10, 11, and 12. The Synod Review Team included Pastor Neil Harrison, Director of Renewing Congregations for the ELCA, and Pastor Gloria Dovre, Director for Evangelical Mission. The All Saints Review Team included members of Council and the New Vision Team, with other leaders and Pastor Clark.
The Synod Review Team spent Friday afternoon with Pastor Clark. On Saturday, they spent time with the whole All Saints’ Review Team listening and sharing about the ministries and mission of All Saints. On Sunday, the Synod Review Team shared affirmations and recommendations with All Saints’ Review Team.
A full report will be shared with Pastor Clark and church leaders soon. But a few of their affirmations included the spiritual transformation they see at All Saints – vital to all redeveloping congregations. They also see big strides being made in the goals and recommendations set forth in the October 2013 site review. And they noted the food pantry as a “key missional ministry” of All Saints that provides food to those who need it, and also builds relationships and does evangelism, too.
Among their recommendations is the opportunity to double-down on “evangelizing outreach”–All Saints reaching out to our neighbors with the gospel and the grace of relationship in Christ. They celebrated the work the New Vision Team has done, crafting an Evangelizing Outreach Vision. Now Council will create and implement a specific 6-9 month plan to mobilize you and the whole congregation to do it. If you want to learn more, talk to Pastor Clark or Julie Schoville.
The Synod Review Team sees All Saints as an essential and valuable resource for the people in and around this place – igniting passion for Jesus and boldly transforming our neighborhoods with hope and love.
