October is stewardship month here at All Saints Evangelical Lutheran Church. The team will use the materials from the ELCA Churchwide Synod titled, “The Joy of Generosity: Generous lives. Joyful community. God’s work together.” Each week the focus will be on a different aspect of “The Joy of Generosity”.
A mailing was sent on Monday, October 12th so be looking in your mailboxes for this year’s stewardship mailing.
This week, our stewardship emphasis will be “The Joy of Doing God’s Work Together.” Our denomination, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, regularly uses the phrase “God’s work. Our hands.” At All Saints Evangelical Lutheran Church, we strive to do God’s work. When our hands do this work together, more of it gets done and we are sustained by each other.
Our congregation is doing God’s work in our community through the food pantry & clothing closet.
Our congregation is also doing God’s work across the country and around the world.
Think of your own involvement in doing God’s work. How have you joined with others in our congregation to do God’s work in our community? How have you joined with others to do God’s work farther from home?
