Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are needed …

see the clipboards on the kiosk in the gathering space at church or contact the church office (office@allsaintsdavenport.org) to sign-up to help with various tasks around the church i.e. property maintenance, worship assistants, food pantry volunteers, etc.

**The sign-up sheets are hanging on the kiosk through the month of September.**

  • to help with the food pantry & clothing closet

i.e. prepare the food pantry & clothing closet by hanging clothing, preparing food boxes, load and unload the

food delivery on Fridays, and help on Saturdays while the food pantry and clothing closet are open to the public

  • to volunteer your time at a Rhythm City Casino Event

All Saints Lutheran Church has a fun fund-raising opportunity to volunteer at Rhythm City Casino (7077 Elmore Ave, Davenport, IA 52807) and earn $500 (donation from Rhythm City Casino) for each event.

All Saints Lutheran Church will be volunteering at the Stephen Pearcy concert, from the band RATT, on Friday, May 29th. The concert begins at 8 pm so volunteers need to arrive by 6:15 pm.

A sign-up sheet is located on the kiosk in the gathering space. Contact Kirk with questions.

Responsibilities

  • Ushering: Showing guests to their seats (The end of every aisle is labelled, and signs are posted to show each section).
  • Doors: One person will scan tickets, and one person will mark hands at each open door (1 – 3 doors depending on the crowd)
  • Monitor room: Volunteers are present in the room in case a guest has a question or needs guidance. One – Two people will stand at the door to check hands as guests go in and out to assure they purchased a ticket to attend
  • Seats: Depending on the show, volunteers would stack chairs once the event ends

Number of volunteers needed (do not need to be members of All Saints – invite your friends)

  • 8-12 volunteers (ideally at least 10) – at least 18 years of age

Dress Code

  • white shirt and dark dress pants (no ripped jeans, shorts, etc.)

Arrive 30-45 minutes prior to doors opening (doors open 1 hour prior to event)

  • to get a layout of the room, receive your vest, badge, etc.

Monetary Donation Opportunities

All unspecified donations will be put into the church’s general fund, which covers the operating expenses for the church. If you would like to donate to a specific fund, please write your check to All Saints Lutheran Church and specify the specific fund’s name on the memo line.

  • General Fund – undesignated revenue used for paying the bills for the church
  • Helping Hands Fund – helps families in need
  • Food Pantry Fund – operating fund for the food pantry to purchase food and items for the food pantry
  • Food Pantry Discretionary Fund – covers any expenses that food pantry individuals might need other than food i.e. gas money, hotel money, et cetera
  • Memorial Garden Fund – helps maintain the Memorial Garden on the church property
  • Happy Hearts Hopeful Future Fund – directs monies directly toward the principal balance of the mortgage
  • Royal Ball Run – monies directed to support The Royal Ball Run for Autism in the Quad Cities
