The most recent Listen Strong campaign has come to a close. The team plans to share their results at an ice cream social, with the date to be determined.
Six weeks ago, All Saints commissioned a specially-trained Listen Strong team. They invited all All Saints’ people to one-to-one conversation.
The purpose was to strengthen All Saints by starting and strengthening relationships of ongoing care and concern and by clarifying what God is calling this congregation to do next, through All Saints peoples’ unique passions and gifts.
This campaign officially ended on May 31. We thank Listen Strong team members Julie Schoville, Barb Johnson, KD Kalber, Sharon Martin, Michael Novak, Roger Oliver, Pastor Clark Olson-Smith, Art Raney, Scott Schoville and Tom Schoville for their dedication to this campaign. They will soon report their findings to Council and the congregation.
The Listen Strong team was commissioned in worship on Sun Apr 19. That team of eight people has already grown to 10.
These are the listeners:
K. D. Kalber
and Pastor Clark
One of them will contact you between now and the end of May. They will invite you to have a 30 minute one-to-one conversation–a “sacred conversation.
The purpose is to strengthen All Saints by strengthening relationships of real care and concern and getting clearer on what God is calling this congregation to do next.
Thanks for saying, “Yes!” and sharing yourself, your time, your story.
Thanks and peace, PC
On Sunday, April 19, All Saints will commission another specially-trained Listen Strong team. In the six weeks that follow, they will invite all All Saints’ people–you!–to one-to-one conversation.
The purpose is to strengthen All Saints:
- by starting and strengthening relationships of ongoing care and concern
- and by clarifying what God is calling this congregation to do next, through All Saints peoples’ unique passions and gifts.
The 2013 Listen Strong team had 77 conversations, and its report to Council focused the congregation’s core ministries
Julie Schoville is leading the 2015 effort, with support and training from Quad Cities Interfaith and its executive director, Leslie Kilgannon.
Help shape All Saints’ future and the 2015 April-May Listen Strong listening campaign by completing a “congregational survey.”
Surveys will be distributed at worship on Sunday, March 29. Or, click here to complete the survey online.
Also, learn to listen more deeply and make a more powerful impact in your life and community!
On Saturday, March 28 from 9am to 3pm, all are invited to “Sacred Conversation” listening training. It is free. Lunch will be provided. It will be held at Edwards Congregational Church at 3420 Jersey Ridge Rd, Davenport, IA 52807.
Pastor Clark will be there, with members of the Listen Strong team. Attending does not commit you to being a listener in the campaign.
