A letter sent in October to the congregation

4 October 2020
Members of All Saints Lutheran Church:
Greetings.

As you are aware, the last six months have been difficult time for everyone due to the pandemic effect on our society.

The pandemic has particularly affected churches by their closure for Sunday morning worship. This development has led, as expected, to a decline in financial support.

Our congregation continues to maintain the ministry of the church in the face of the pandemic. Financial obligations, however, must still be met.

Additionally, a number of maintenance issues have placed pressure on our bank account. The hailstorm earlier this year necessitated a roof replacement. The derecho caused damage to the siding, facia, and windows in the sanctuary. Some damage will be covered by insurance, but we are responsible for the deductible. These costs could not have been anticipated.

Below is a summary of the church financial condition as of 30 September 2020 per Jim Low, Financial Officer:
Total Ministry Investment Year to Date.………   $63,760.00
Total Ministry Expenses Year to Date………….    $68,870.00
Year to Date Loss ………………………………………    ($5,110.00)
Offering shortfall as of the end of August …….    ($8,507.00)

We thank you for your financial support of the ministry of All Saints Lutheran Church. Enclosed for your information is a statement of personal giving for All Saints Lutheran Church, as well as an envelope to mail a contribution, as you are able, toward the budget and deficit.

Thank you,
Stewardship Committee
Roger Oliver, Laura McCreery, Pastor Richard Pokora, and Bonnie Strittmater
