Being a Christian is like being a pumpkin. God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. He opens you up, touches you deep inside and scoops out all the yucky stuff– including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, et cetera. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside you to shine for all the world to see.

Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday, November 3 at 2:00 am. Don’t forget to set your clock accordingly before you head to bed on Saturday night.
All Saints Sunday
Sunday, November 3 is All Saints Sunday and during worship we will remember those who have passed with the reading of names and candle lighting. Please sign your loved one’s name on the sign-up sheet located on the kiosk in the gathering space before Sunday, November 3. If you didn’t sign up on the clipboard, please email the church office (office@allsaintsdavenport.org) to add the names.
Forum to follow worship – Nov. 3
There will be another forum following worship this Sunday, November 3 to see what is next for All Saints Lutheran Church after receiving the resignation of Pastor Amy. Pastor Amy will continue to be with the Together in Christ Parish (All Saints Lutheran Church and St James Lutheran Church) until April 2020. Please plan on staying after worship for the discussion.
Poinsettia Sign-up
You may purchase poinsettias to be displayed in the church for the month of December in honor of or memory of someone. Please fill out the signup sheet that is located on the kiosk in the gathering space. Place your payment of $8.50 (per poinsettia) in an envelope in the offering plate clearly labeled.
Together in Christ Parish Bible Study
On Mondays during the month of November (November 4, 11, 18, & 25) the Together in Christ Parish will have a joint weekly Bible Study. The topic for the month will be: A book study on “Everything Happens For A Reason: And Other Lies I’ve Loved” by Kate Bowler. This book can be found at many Quad City libraries and major booksellers. This study will take place at St James Lutheran Church (1705 Oak Street, Bettendorf) at 5:30 pm.
All Saints Worship Planning Team
The All Saints Worship Planning Team will meet on Wednesday, November 13 at 6:00 pm in the library.
Together in Christ Parish Board
The Together in Christ Parish Board will meet on Tuesday, November 19 at 5:30 pm in the All Saints library.
SoundReach Concert
Tuesday, November 19 SoundReach will have their fall session concert in the sanctuary at 6:00 pm followed by a reception in the gathering space. SoundReach is a choir/music group for young adults with special needs directed by Music Therapists from West Music. Come and support this wonderful ministry that uses our church weekly for rehearsal.
Church Council
The All Saints Lutheran Church council will meet on Tuesday, November 19 @ 6:30 pm in the All Saints library.
Church Decorating
The original date for decorating was Sunday, November 24 directly following worship, but there is now a survey to take to see when the best time is to decorate. In order to get the most hands helping for Christmas decorating we would like you to fill out this survey – https://forms.gle/htUGjuhVNEsgQHBSA – by November 2 please. Whichever time slot works for the most people is when we will decorate the church for the seasons of Advent and Christmas.
Thanksgiving Worship Service
The Together in Christ Parish will have a joint Thanksgiving worship service on Tuesday, November 26 at St James Lutheran Church (1705 Oak Street, Bettendorf). A Pie Fest will follow worship.
