Good Soil Groups:
New Good Soil Groups are back in full swing. In groups of two or three called “Good Soil Groups,” we are listening to God–reading scripture, growing friendships, and praying together. Read before you meet, and when you do, reconnect, talk about what you read, and pray. It’s that simple! Truly, God will open you to the seed of God’s Word and grow something new in you, this congregation, and its ministry in Davenport and beyond. Visit allsaintsdavenport.org/goodsoil for weekly reading introductions. Watch what God grows in you!

New Interim President: Steve Kalber: In January, Council appointed Steve Kalber as All Saints’ interim President. He will serve until May 2013, completing the remainder of Mark Collier’s term. Steve is trustworthy and steady. He has skill in listening. He also brings the wisdom and history of many years of membership at All Saints. I hope we all can find ways to thank Steve and support him, the Council, and the New Vision Team in prayer.
Ministry Site Review Rescheduled and Expanded
On Monday, February 4, Bishop Michael Burk and Pastor Gloria Dovre will visit All Saints to facilitate a Ministry Site Review.
+ 6-7p, an open forum for all, downstairs in the Fellowship Hall
+ 7:15-8:30p, leaders only, Council and New Vision Team
Despite the ice storm, many gathered and participated in a forum on Sunday, January 27, including Pastor Gloria Dovre who had stayed the night in town. But the weather prevented many from participating, including Bishop Burk who was forced to turn back on his way from Iowa City. We also postponed the leaders’ conversation.
This second forum is for everyone, people who participated in the first and those who did not. We will catch each other and the Bishop up and take the conversation a few steps forward. The purpose of the Ministry Site Review is to consider together where we are going and how we want to get there from where we are now.
I hope, on this short notice, you can participate. All are invited. Pastor Clark.

Midweek Lenten Series: Beneath the Cross of Jesus
“We live our lives beneath the cross of Jesus, beneath God’s manifold love and grace that reach to us even from Calvary. Based on the hymn “Beneath the cross of Jesus” (ELW #338), this series explores what it means for us to abide at the foot of the cross, to cling to the rock of our salvation, to dwell in the house of the Lord, and to confess our sins and receive God’s forgiveness.” From Sundays & Seasons, copyright © 2012 Augsburg Fortress.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Garfield Elementary School for organizing a food drive and so graciously delivering over 30 boxes of canned goods to our All Saints Food Pantry this week. This is the second year that church member Barb Frerichs, who is a Reading Specialist at Garfield, has given our name for their drive. Thank you Barb for helping with this ministry. Maybe you know a business, school, group or neighborhood that would gladly hold a food drive for the All Saints Food Pantry.
We have been so blessed with another wonderful year filled with great volunteers, donations, meeting so many truly inspiring people that we serve and hearing their heart warming stories. God continues to care for all those who are struggling and, with his grace and love, allows us to truly give back. Thanks be to God and to All Saints Lutheran Church.
The Altar Guild is in need of additional people to help with communion set up/clean up on Sunday mornings, as well as baking communion bread. Contact Ellen Bloomingdale, Barb Stadie, Diane Radloff or Marilyn Oliver if you can help.
Please check out the New Vision Team bulletin board in the gathering area. This will provide you with updates on what the New Vision Team is up to and when we are meeting. You will also find information about All Saints members to help us all get to know each other better. Please feel free to ask questions or give suggestions to the New Vision Team (Katey Krull, Tim Sampiller, Julie Schoville and Pastor Clark). You can also find more information online at AllSaintsDavenport.org/Leaders.
