Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!

Introduction Copyright © 2024 Augsburg Fortress.

This Sunday’s image of how the risen Christ shares his life with us is the image of the vine. Christ the vine and we the branches are alive in each other, in the mystery of mutual abiding described in the gospel and the first letter of John. Baptism makes us a part of Christ’s living and life-giving self and makes us alive with Christ’s life. As the vine brings food to the branches, Christ feeds us at his table. We are sent out to bear fruit for the life of the world.

Acts 8:26-40

Led by the Spirit, Philip encounters an Ethiopian official who is returning to his African home after having been to Jerusalem to worship. Philip uses their encounter to proclaim the gospel to him. Upon coming to faith in Jesus, he is baptized by Philip.

Psalm 22:25-31

All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord. (Ps. 22:27)

1 John 4:7-21

We love God and others because God first loved us. We cannot say we love God, whom we have not seen, while hating fellow Christians, whom we regularly see. Love toward God is to be matched by love toward others because the essence of God is love.

John 15:1-8

On the night of his arrest, Jesus taught his disciples about the relationship they would have with him. Those who abide in his word and love bear fruit, for apart from him, they can do nothing.

Royal Ball Run for Autism

Royal Ball Run for Autism is an organization in the Quad Cities. This organization is near and dear to All Saints Lutheran Church. There are several fundraisers and activities scheduled during the month of April which is Autism Awareness Month. The funds help area families receive services they need. For more information on Royal Ball Run for Autism visit their website: www.royalballrun.com

Donations through All Saints

All Saints Lutheran Church will be collecting money for Royal Ball Run for Autism. We have done this in the past so that All Saints Lutheran Church’s name is published as a Royal Supporter on the back of the Race and Volunteer tee shirts in June. Please write your check out to All Saints Lutheran Church and note on the memo line “Royal Ball Run”.  If you prefer to give cash, please make sure the envelope has “Royal Ball Run” on the outside of the envelope with your name. All Saints will write one check at the end of May to Royal Ball Run.

Update: Magic and Masterpieces

I regret to announce that due to low ticket sales, and the costs associated then with hosting we unfortunately need to cancel the Magic & Masterpieces event.

We so appreciate your commitment to supporting autism advocacy in the Quad Cities and apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment this causes. We of course will reimburse anyone who already purchased tickets (as of today just 12 tickets sold) and will be looking to find another artistic outlet for our kiddos and students to showcase their talents! We hope to see Ben Andrews to additionally serve as an ambassador and keynote for one of our RBR weekend events June 21-22, 2024

We will continue to do what the RBR team does best — connect people to resources such as the Royal Guide and Annual Resource Fair, host our popular Royal Ball for All Carnival & RBR 5K, and celebrate and advocate for the QCA’s autistic community every step of the way.

All the best,
Jen Hartmann
