In Case You Missed It

Join Bishop Current for a 5-week Zoom Study!

“Now is the Time” is a study surrounding the impact of slavery and racism on our church and stresses self- examination and realism around these issues. These five 1.5-hour sessions will include self-study, reading, video lessons, large-group learning, and small-group reflection. Participants will be asked to commit to attending all five sessions. These five sessions will be led by Bishop Amy Current and Marissa Kolander, minister at Gloria Dei, Iowa City.

All are welcome to join this study you don’t need to be in leadership in your congregation or have any background in these topics. Participants should try to attend all five sessions as the curriculum and discussion builds from week to week. Participants in the same household or congregation will be placed in small groups together, sign up with a friend or family!

The study will be on Thursday evenings, Nov. 2, 9, 16, 30 and Dec. 7 from 6:30 – 8:00 pm.

Helping Hands

We have established a “Helping Hands” fund to help our refugee family. This is to specifically help them get a green card. If you would like to help, please put “Helping Hands” in the memo line of your check or on the envelope. Thank you so much for your generous support.
