The All Saints Lutheran Church Food Pantry, located at 5002 Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport has been helping food insecure people/families for over 20 years. We are open every Saturday without fail from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. We turn no one away and give out fresh produce, meat, a box of food, and when we have enough funds, laundry detergent, bars of soap, toilet paper, toothbrushes, and toothpaste.
We have grown immensely in the last few years and are now giving out over 150 boxes of food each and every week. All of our funding comes from donations and grants. We purchase most of our food from River Bend Food Bank at a reduced cost but in 2023 we will have spent over $30,000.00 at Riverbend. We do not see the need for food or the expense of the food we are getting from River Bend to go anywhere but up in the coming year.
Ten years ago, we added a clothing closet to this ministry and have helped thousands of people with clothing, household goods, small furniture, and so much more. It is all free to all people.
As far as non-monetary donations: all gently used clothing, housewares, blankets, and coats are greatly appreciated. For food: jars of peanut butter, cans of soup, cans of vegetables, cans of ravioli, cans of pork and beans, spaghetti sauce, noodles, and macaroni and cheese are all greatly needed.
Our mission statement is Matthew 25:31-46. The people will say Oh God when did we see you hungry and give you food, or thirsty and give you drink or naked and clothed you? The King will reply, when you served the least of my brothers and sisters you did unto me.
Our goal is to keep on helping food insecure people/families with food and clothing, hygiene items and while doing so treating every person with grace and dignity.
