Jim Low has been discharged from the hospital and continues to recover at home.

Matt Reece has been discharged from the ER and continues to recover at home.

Continue to pray for the McCreery family after the death of Kyle’s father Daryl last week. They will also be moving Kyle’s mom into a senior living facility soon.

Obituary for Daryl E. McCreery

May 13, 1934-June 14, 2023

CLINTON-Daryl E. McCreery, age 89 of Clinton, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at his home. In following Daryl’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded. There are no services being planned at this time. Memorials in Daryl’s name may be made to the charity of your choice. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Daryl was born in Clinton on May 13, 1934, the son of Eldred D. and Elsie Marie (Hass) McCreery. He attended grade school in Lyons and graduated from Lyons High School in 1952. After graduating from Lyons, Daryl attended Clinton Junior College. He joined the United States Navy, serving for 4 years before returning to Clinton. He then enrolled at the University of Northern Iowa, graduating in 1960 with a degree in education. He returned to Clinton and began teaching at Lyons Middle School. After teaching many years he retired in 1997. Daryl married Leslie Trout on June 29, 1969 in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Surviving Daryl are his wife, Leslie Trout-McCreery; a son Kyle (Laura) McCreery of Davenport; a granddaughter, Kaylee McCreery and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldred and Elsie McCreery; his father- and mother-in-law, Donald and Dell Trout of Ottumwa, and his sister, Mary Jane Kampling.
