January Happenings

Joint Worship

The Together in Christ Parish will hold a Joint Worship Service this Sunday, January 20th at 9:00 am at St. James Lutheran Church (1705 Oak Street, Bettendorf). There will be no activities at All Saints Lutheran Church. Directly following worship, St. James Lutheran Church will hold their annual meeting.

Community Blood Drive

Grace Lutheran Church will be hosting a community blood drive Thursday, January 24 from 2:00-6:00 pm. E-mail Mark at majepson55@netscape.net to sign up, please let him know which church you are from.

Volunteer sign-up

The 1st quarter volunteer sign-up sheets are on the clipboards hanging on the kiosk in the gathering space. Please sign up where you can (don’t hesitate to take the clipboard down to make it easier to write). See the kiosk for descriptions of volunteer opportunities.

Quilting/Sewing Group

The quilting group is working this year on making a quilt for an auction in May 2019 that will benefit the Lutheran summer camp at Strawberry Point. We have purchased the pattern and fabric.  The quilt must be completed by the first of April. It takes our small team about 3 months to complete a quilt, so we are asking if anyone wants to join in the fellowship and fun. Perhaps to press seams if sewing is not your thing. Also, the cost to long arm the quilt will be between $100 and $150 as well as the batting, so any contributions would be appreciated. Come join the fun on Saturdays at 9:30 am in the gathering space.

Bible Study

The Together in Christ Parish will have Bible Study on Monday evenings during the month of January at 6:00 pm at All Saints Lutheran Church. “Disciples Unsupervised – A study on the book of Acts” is the focus for the month.

Food Pantry/Clothing Closet meeting

There will be a meeting for all interested in helping with the food pantry, clothing closet, and bread pick-up this Saturday, January 19 @ 11:30 am. The meeting will take place in the gathering space. All are welcome to attend.
