November Happenings

Quilting/Sewing Group

The quilting group is working this year on making a quilt for an auction in May that will benefit the Lutheran summer camp at Strawberry Point. We have purchased the pattern and fabric.  The quilt must be completed by the first of April. It takes our small team about 3 months to complete a quilt, so we are asking if anyone wants to join in the fellowship and fun. Perhaps to press seams if sewing is not your thing. Also, the cost to long arm the quilt will be between $100 to $150 as well as the batting so any contributions would be appreciated. Come join the fun on Saturdays at 9:30 am in the gathering space.

Stewardship Letter

A mailing went out with the annual stewardship letter, pledge card, and a service interest sheet October 23. Please read the information and return the pledge card and service interest sheet during the month on November. You may place these items in the offering plate or put them under the Director of Communications door. If you did not receive the mailing, there are extra copies in the sanctuary or let Kristen (office@allsaintsdavenport.org) know.

Thanksgiving Worship Service with Pie Fest

The Together in Christ Parish will have a joint Thanksgiving Worship Service with Pie Fest before and after worship at All Saints Lutheran Church on Tuesday, November 20 beginning at 6:30 pm. Come for a slice of pie at 6:30 pm in the gathering space, worship will take place in the sanctuary at 7 pm, and stay for another piece of pie after worship in the gathering space. Please bring a pie or two to share while we fellowship with one another.

Church Decorating

Do you love to decorate for the holidays? Sunday, November 25 following the worship service will be when the church will be decorated for the Advent/Christmas seasons. There will be a light lunch of soup, bread, and sandwiches for those who stay to help! Volunteers are needed to help with the decorating and meal. Contact Laura (lauralmccreery@gmail.com) or sign up on the clipboard located on the kiosk in the gathering space if you are planning to help. Many Hands Make Light Work!

Service of Thanksgiving

Churches United is hosting a Service of Thanksgiving on Sunday, November 25 at 5:00 pm at Bethel Wesley United Methodist Church (1201 13th St., Moline, IL). Several Quad City Pastors, including Pastor Amy, will be participating. Come join other congregations as we thank our gracious God.

Poinsettia Sign-up

It is that time of year again…to start thinking about the holidays. Poinsettias will be displayed for the Advent and Christmas seasons (Dec 2 – 30, 2018). If you would like to purchase a poinsettia in memory or honor of a loved one see the clipboard on the kiosk in the gathering space. Please indicate clearly if it is in memory of or in honor of that person on the sign-up sheet. The poinsettias are $8 each. Please put the money in the offering plate (marked clearly). You may take your purchased plant home at the end of the Christmas season.
