Lent Mid-Week Worship (on own)

Hymn of Light – ELW #230 Joyous Light of Glory

Joyous light of glory,
shine among your people;
show us the loving face of God on high.

Jesus Christ our Savior,
bring us here together
as setting sun gives way to evening light.

We sing to God, Father, Son, and Sprit,
Worthy of praise forever and ever.
O Son of God, you give us life eternal;
The universe proclaims your glory.

Joyous light of glory,
shine among your people;
show us the loving face of God on high.

Thanksgiving for Light

Behold, now is the accept- | able time;
now is the day | of salvation.

Turn us again, O God of | our salvation,
that the light of your face may | shine on us.

May your justice shine | like the sun;
and may the poor be | lifted up.

Psalmody – Week of Lent 4: Psalm 53

Restoring our fortunes

Song – Week of Lent 4 – Restore in us, O God ELW #328

1  Restore in us, O God,
    the splendor of your love;
    renew your image in our hearts,
    and all our sins remove.

2  O Spirit, wake in us
    the wonder of your pow’r;
    from fruitless fear unfurl our lives
    like springtime bud and flow’r.

3  Bring us, O Christ, to share
    the fullness of your joy;
    baptize us in the risen life
    that death cannot destroy.

4  Three-personed God, fulfill
    the promise of your grace,
    that we, when all our searching ends,
    may see you face to face.

For public servants, the government, and those who protect us; for those who work to bring peace, justice, and healing, and protection in this and every place, let us pray to the Lord,

Help, save, comfort, and defend us, gracious Lord.
Giving thanks for all who have gone before us and are at rest, rejoicing in the communion of all the saints, we commend ourselves, one another, and our whole life to you,
Though Christ our Lord.

To you, O Lord.
