DAVENPORT, Iowa — The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will be bringing holiday cheer to the Quad Cities once again.
The train is scheduled to bring its 14 fantastically lit rail cars and live music performances to our area on Wednesday, Nov. 27 and Thursday, Nov. 28.
“The Holiday Train unites people in the spirit of the season as it travels across Canada and the United States, while generating critical support for our neighbors in need through the program’s support of local food banks,” CPKC President and CEO Keith Creel said in a press release. “We are pleased to again send this magical train on a four-week trip across our network spreading holiday joy as we collect food and raise money to fight food insecurity. We look forward to again seeing all the smiles and cheers from people young and old coming together in the spirit of giving.”
All the holiday train’s stops in Iowa and Illinois will feature performances from New York-based pop-rock band American Authors and Scottish artist KT Tunstall unless otherwise noted. Attending is free, but visitors are encouraged to bring a food donation to help in the fight against hunger. Here’s when you can pay a visit:
- Pingree Grove, Illinois: 9-9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at Village Hall
- Byron, Illinois: Noon-12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27 on Tower Road (featuring performances from Tyler Shaw and Shawnee Kish)
- Clinton, Iowa: 3:15-3:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at East Main Avenue
- Davenport, Iowa: 6-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at Western Avenue and West River Drive
- Muscatine, Iowa: 7:45-8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at River Side Park
- Ottumwa, Iowa: 10-10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 28 at 1300 Wildwood Drive
The train’s full cross-country tour runs from Nov. 22 to Dec. 17.
