Semi-Annual Congregation Meeting

The Semi-Annual Congregation Meeting will be Sunday, May 5 at 11:45 am (directly following the worship service). This meeting is for elections (see positions on bulletin board in the gathering space) and to celebrate what the church has done over the past year. After the meeting, we will have a Mexican themed pot-luck in the gathering space.

Bible Study

Bible Study will be every Monday during the month of May (May 6th – May 27th) at 6:00 pm at All Saints Lutheran Church – The Revelation Re-run! Back by popular demand, for the month of May, come learn about this final book of the Bible, and how it can speak to our faith today. If you missed the Revelation study last fall, need a refresher, or are just plain curious, this study is for you.  

Southeastern Iowa Synod Assembly

The 32nd Assembly for the Southeastern Iowa Synod will be Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11 at Lutheran Church of Hope (Des Moines, IA). Participants will gather under the theme One Bread. One Body.”.

Graduation Party

All are welcome to come and celebrate Aleck Reece’s High School Graduation on Saturday, May 18 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at an open house in his honor. The open house will take place at Roger and Marilyn Oliver’s house (309 Apple Court, Port Byron, IL).

Aleck is an Illinois State Scholar and National Merit Scholarship Finalist. He plans to attend the University of Wisconsin – Platteville in the fall to study mechanical engineering on a Chancellor Scholarship.

St James Lutheran Church Rummage Sale

St James is once again having a Huge Rummage Sale with Bargains galore!! There will be clothing, toys, household items, and miscellaneous bric-a-brac. The sale will be Thursday, May 30th and Friday, May 31st from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm in the fellowship hall (lower level) at St James Lutheran Church (1705 Oak Street, Bettendorf, IA).

If you would like to donate items to the rummage sale at St James, please get the items to St James either Monday, May 27 or Tuesday, May 28 during the day. Call Judy (355-4349) if you have questions or if daytime doesn’t work for you to drop items off to schedule a time to drop off your donations during the evening.
