“The Shack” book study
In May, we will be starting another combined Parish book study. We will be reading and talking through the novel “The Shack” by Wm. Paul Young. It is readily available at Scott county libraries and major booksellers. This is a great book about how God is present with us in the midst of tragedy, however, it does contain some very tragic scenarios, just be aware. The dates for the Shack Study are Thursday May 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st. Starting at 5:45 pm. We will discuss chapters 1-4 on the 10th. Come if you are already familiar with those chapters, or if you are working on getting through them.

WANTED: Organizer and Planner for Summertime Parish Christian Education Activities
At the planning meeting on April 24, besides myself there was only one St. James member attending, and no one from All Saints attending. Since neither of us is able to plan and organize events for the entire summer, I am hoping there is someone who would be able to do so. Prior to the meeting, several ideas were suggested: ‘traditional’ children’s 5-day week of Vacation Bible School, 5 sessions of Vacation Bible School held once a week for 5 weeks or every other week for 9 weeks; and all-ages education events throughout the summer. I currently have available some themed program materials (God’s Good Creation-5 sessions; Wind/Spirit-3 sessions; God 24/7, the Money Puzzle, Wonderfully Made, Creating & Caring-one session each; and Unfrozen (based on movie Frozen)-one session). If you are interested in organizing either children’s activities/events or all-ages activities/events or want more information about the themed program materials I have, please contact me. Please note: There are LOTS of people who have volunteered to provide snacks for such events.
