The King will reply, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” –Matthew 25: Verse 40
A Story to Share from the All Saints Food Pantry
told by Bonnie Strittmater
About a year ago, a family started coming to the Food Pantry once a month for their box of food, utilized the clothing closet, and picked out a few loaves of bread and perhaps a bakery sweet or two. Every time they came they were treated kindly, respectfully and compassionately. Sheryn Levings especially befriended this family and helped them find clothes and provided a shoulder to cry on during this difficult time in their lives.
A few months later they stopped coming. Last week this family contacted Sheryn and she met with them. They had stopped coming to the All Saints Food Pantry because they were back on their feet. Employed and no longer in need. They insisted on giving $1,000.00 to the Pantry. Sheryn tried to persuade them to hold on to it but they were determined to “pay it forward”. “We don’t know what we would have done without this help — you and the pantry were a God send. You will never know how much we appreciate the help and kindness.”
I pray that each and every person from All Saints Lutheran Church realizes the impact we have on so many people. Every time you donate food or clothing, help out in the Pantry, or put an offering in the plate on Sunday mornings, you realize the enormous ministry of reaching out to your fellow sister or brother in this journey called life. Thanks Be to God and Thanks Be to YOU!
If you would like to be a part of this ministry we have many, many volunteer opportunities. Please contact Bonnie Strittmater at
