God speaks this week through these scriptures:

Genesis 50:15–21 – Joseph’s forgiveness of his brothers
Psalm 103:8–13 – “Lord, you are full of compassion and mercy”
Romans 14:1–12 – Understanding rather than judgment
Matthew 18:21–35 – Human forgiveness should mirror the unlimited mercy of God

Joseph responds to his brothers’ pleas of forgiveness with mercy, sharing that God used the brothers’ crime as an opportunity to do good and save many lives.

Paul questions why we judge one another, since we all stand before the judgment of God.

Jesus challenges that we forgive seventy-seven times, revealing God’s boundless mercy.

When we hear the words of forgiveness in worship and sign ourselves with the cross, we are renewed in baptism to be signs of reconciliation in the world. We receive God’s mercy at the table of the Lord.

Come to worship, to be forgiven, and to be empowered to forgive others.
